Dear Classmates, it’s amazing how things change and yet stay
nearly the same.  It was unfortunate to miss the 40th reunion Up North after planning to attend.  Mimi and I stayed home to receive
friends that visit once a year from DC.   They won’t be coming this way
next year so we decided to stay home and kick up our heels with them.  As I told MJ, my wife had to miss out on meeting all the great looking women in my high school life, but that opportunity will come again when we have our 50th reunion.  I attached a photo of Mimi and me from last weekend on the Puget Sound.  [It’s not Vermillion, but it’ll do.]  Until then, or sooner if you let me know you’re in the Seattle area, I wish you all the very best!  Cheers,  Tom Dombeck

Life,s been good. Did things go the way you thought they would back in 1973? Me neither! After Saint Olaf college I taught Jr and Sr High vocal music for five years (thanks to Dallas Frandsen for the inspiration). Then I went to graduate school which was a great experience aside from the fact that I flunked out of the doctoral program... Although I did complete the Masters in Choral Conducting, I decided to switch careers. I went to the local airport, gave them all my money and said make me an airline pilot -and they did! I’ve been flying since 1999 for Mesaba Airlines (aka Northwest Airlink) which morphed into Endeavor Airlines which is part of the Delta Connection system. Most recently I am teaching in their simulators in Eagan but I still fly regular flights a couple days a month.
I try to keep my musical chops up by conducting church and civic groups off and on. I also spent some years singing with groups like the National Lutheran Choir and the Dale Warland Singers.
So through triumphs and failures I’ve procured a little extra character along the way, but I’m still the quiet guy you may or may not have known back then. I look forward to seeing you all at the reunion.
Life’s good. I hope the same has been true for you.
